Hair transplantation is a surgery to restore lost or balding hair by transferring healthy hair follicles from the back of the head (donor area) to the areas that are thinning or balding (recipient area). It is a surgical procedure and the results will be visible within several months. The success of the hair restoration surgery depends on many factors including the type and number of grafts placed, technique and method of extraction used and aftercare.부산탈모치료병원
The surgeon will numb the affected scalp area with a local anesthetic. Two main techniques are used to get the hair follicles that will be implanted – strip technique and follicular unit extraction (FUE). In the strip technique, a small incision is made in the scalp and a strip of skin is removed. This is then closed with stitches. In the FUE technique, a needle or sharp punch is used to make hundreds or thousands of small incisions in your scalp. Each follicle is harvested with care to ensure that the surrounding tissue is undamaged. The follicles are then either inserted immediately into the recipient site or stored in a holding medium of chilled sterile saline.
During the surgery, the surgeon will take great care to place each graft in its own natural direction. This will prevent the transplanted hair from appearing unnatural, and it will also encourage continued hair growth in the donor area. After the grafts have been placed, your doctor will bandage the area and give you instructions for your recovery.
The initial healing period usually takes five to seven days, and patients may experience some itching at the treatment site. Vigorous activity should be avoided for a few weeks, and medications will be given to minimize swelling. It is important to follow the aftercare instructions precisely. Failure to do so could lead to complications such as infection and uneven growth of the transplanted hairs.
Some people may need a touch-up procedure to fill in thin spots or adjust the angles of the new hairline. This can be done by the same surgeon who performed the original procedure.
The best candidates for hair restoration surgery are men or women with a well-defined pattern of thinning or baldness on the top of the head, and who have sufficient thicker hair on the sides or back of the head to serve as a donor zone. These hairs are typically resistant to the hormone DHT, which causes balding. Once the follicles are transplanted, they will remain DHT resistant for life. People with thinning eyebrows, mustaches or beards are good candidates for hair transplants as well. However, these hairs are typically not as resistant to DHT and will not grow as long or thick as the hair on the top of the head. In these cases, a combination of hair transplants and other hair loss treatments are often required to achieve the desired look.청담모바로의원
